Steve is in residence at the Bennington Chamber Music festival where he will coach amateur musicians in a performance of a new work.

SEPTEMBER 17
Colin Currie premieres a new marimba concerto, Time Release, with the Residentia orchestra in The Hague, Holland.

SEPTEMBER 18
Colin Currie leads students at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague in performances of chamber music including Feels So Baaad and Jango.

OCTOBER 18-20
Steve is the BMI composer in residence at Vanderbuilt University where he will teach, lecture and attend a concert of his works on Wednesday October 19.

The Dutch Radio Symphony performs Eating Greens in Utrecht under Henryk Schaeffer conducting.

OCTOBER 20-21
The Prism Saxophone quartet premieres the concerto version of Animal, Vegetable, Mineral with the Nashville Symphony.

The members of the American Composers Orchestra performs Micro Concerto with Daniel Druckman as percussion soloist at the Annenberg Center in Philadelphia.

FEBRUARY 9
Steve is featured in a composer portrait as part of the "Making Music" series at Zankel Hall. The program will intersperse performances by Steve, the Brentano String Quartet, Mosaic chamber ensemble, and the Prism Saxophone Quartet, with discussions about the compositional process between Steve and artistic director Ara Guzelimian(Zankel is the new theater at Carnegie Hall).

MARCH 23-26
Steve is featured composer at the “Imagine” festival at the University of Memphis in Memphis Tennessee. Performances will include Micro Concerto and Physical Property.

APRIL 23 and 25
Network for New Music with Cymbalom player Tim Williams, gives the world premiere of Five Animated Shortsat the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia (23rd) and at Taplin Auditorium on the campus of Princeton University (25th).

Steve gets married!! … to composer Sarah Kirkland Snider!

OCTOBER 6/7
The New World Symphony under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas directs the world premiere of a new work for Orchestra commissioned to celebrate the opening of the Miami Performing Arts Center, the largest performing arts center to open since Lincoln Center.

OCTOBER 23
Steve performs solo at Bergen County Community College.

NOVEMBER 16
The Swedish Chamber Orchestra conducted by HK Gruber performs Time Release with Colin Currie as percussion soloist.

NOVEMBER 25
Steve will be a featured composer at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in the UK. He will perform Myrtle and Mint and Heavy Light with Psappha.

2007

JANUARY 28
Faculty and alumni guitarists from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, including David Tannenbaum, perform the world premiere of Measures of Turbulence, for 5 classical, 2 electric and 1 bass guitar, commissioned to celebrate the opening of a new facility.

February 12
Steve and Rinde Eckert perform excerpts from work in progress on a new music theater piece called "Slide" at McCarter Theater in Princeton.

FEBRUARY 20
The Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, conducted by Thierry Fischer performs Time Release with Colin Currie as percussion soloist.

March 12
The Brentano and Borromeo String Quartets perform an all-Mackey program including ars moriendi, Lude and his string octet Gaggle and Flock.

MARCH 25/26
Steve Performs Deal with the American Composers Orchestra at the Annenberg Center in Philadelphia (25) and at Zankel Hall (26) with Dennis Russell Davies conducting.

April 27
Steve leads a masterclass at the Curtis Institue of Music in Philadelphia.

May 19
Dreamhouse, US premiere at Sanders Theater in Boston with Synergy Vocals (London), Catch e-gtr. Quartet (Amsterdam), Rinde Eckert, led by Gil Rose and the Boston Modern Orchestra Project.

July 8
Steve performs his electric guitar concerto Tuck and Roll with David Ro0bertson conducting at the Aspen Music Festival.

July 17
The Cheltenham InternationalFestival in England presents an all Mackey program performed by Psappha, inlcuding the European Premiere of Five Animated Shorts for Cimbalom and small ensemble.

July 21
Ground Swell, a concerto for Hsin Yun Huang (viola solo) and 8 instruments including the Brentano String Quartet, receives its world premiere at the Aspen Music Festival.

JUNE - JULY
Steve will be co-composer in Residence at the Aspen Music Festival. Works to be performed TBA.

Members of the Saint Louis Symphony perform Humble River on their Pulitzer series.

OCTOBER 6/7
American Modern Ensemble with Steve on the guitar plays an all-Mackey program at the Tenri Cultrual Institute of New York at 43A W.13th street.

Jeffrey Kahane and  Colorado Symphony perform Turn the Key at the Boettcher Concert Hall in the  Denver Performing Arts Complex.

2008

JANUARY
Steve will be the Ernst Bloch visiting professor at the University of California at Berkeley. He will teach a seminar and give several public lectures and concerts.

FEBRUARY 2
Kokoro, Contemporary Music Ensemble of the Bournemouth Symphony, plays Micro-Concerto at the Lighthouse, Dorset, Poole UK. Kokoro gave the US premiere of the piece in 2001. Sacha Johnson will again be the soloist.

FEBRUARY 7,8,9
The Baltimore Symphony with Marin Alsop will play Time Release with Colin Currie as soloist in Baltimore (7,8) and then Carnegie Hall (9). This will mark Marin Alsop's debut in Carnegie Hall.

MARCH 5
Psappha performs Five Animated Shorts at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music.

The Royal Northern College of Music and the BBC Philharmonic host a "Mackey" festival featuring both orchestral and chamber performances.

Hsin-Yun Huang performs Groundswell at the La Jolla Summerfest.

Leila Josefowicz gives the world premiere of a new violin concerto written for her with H.K Gruber and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in Manchester UK.

Leila Josefowicz plays Steve's violin concerto with David Robertson and the Saint Louis Symphony.

MAY 12
Steve conducts the American Modern Ensemble in Groundswell, Hsin-Yun Huang, viola solo, Taplin Auditorium on the campus of Princeton University.

The Nashville Symphony performs Turn The Key.

JUNE 12
Ojai music festival, Steve performs with eighth blackbird and Rinde Eckert in the world premiere of Slide, a new 75 minute concert theater work created by Steve and Rinde.

Steve performs at the Ojai festival marathon.

JULY 4-6
Steve is in residence at the Zeltsman Marimba Festival in Lawrence Wisconsin where his new work for solo marimba – Beast – will receive its world premiere.
